Jurassic Gateway Lottery Bid
Published on 06 Jul 06
Dorset County Council has submitted a lottery bid for £3.3m to help with the restoration of Durlston Country Park in Swanage.
It is hoped that the historic Durlston Castle can be turned into a new 'gateway' visitor centre with a cafe, function room and interpretation area.
Plans also include the restoration of the park's original Victorian landscape.
A decision is expected to be made in October and, if successful, the centre could be open by October 2009.
