Dorset & East Devon's World Heritage Coast has been awarded the prestigious top destination award in the World Travel & Tourism Council's 'Tourism for Tomorrow' category.
The judges' decision was announced at the Global Travel and Tourism Summit in New Delhi, India.
Sally King, of the Jurassic Coast team said: " We are thrilled that all our hard work has been recognised, together with the role that our partners play in sensibly and sensitively caring for the World Heritage Site." She added, "We are determined to help local people and visitors enjoy the site, both now and in the future, and to maintain the site in at least as good a condition as it is now."
Dorset's shortlisted rivals for this award were the Chugchilan and Black Sheep Inn, Eco Lodge in the rural Andes in Equador, and the Rinjani Trek Ecotourism Programme in Lombok, Indonesia.
