New Webcam Launched at Olympic Sailing Site
Published on 01 Jun 11
Positioned above and overlooking the competitors' sailing and windsurfing launching slipway, the latest Weymouth and Portland webcam provides live streaming and 24-7, high quality images of 'what’s occurring' on what will become the world's most watched launching site.
In the months leading up to the 2012 Olympic Games, all water sports users will be able to access the images to check sea state conditions, wind directions etc before venturing out on competitive or recreational 'voyages'. In addition the 'Wind Guru' weather application is available, providing predicted sailing conditions and also BBC general weather reports for the following four days.
For the competitive sailors, team members and managers the webcam is an essential tool for strategic decision making, tactics and analytics. Fast and easy to access from all global locations, live streamed images panned across Weymouth Bay and Chesil Beach are available from www.intheelements.co.uk/webcams
